Learning a new language is like opening a door to a whole new world. It challenges us, connects us to different cultures, and expands our minds. In this blog, I share the most meaningful parts of my journey as a Technologist in Advertising Development. 👪 1. My Family: The Foundation of My Dreams

Since I was a child, my family has been my greatest support. They have taught me the values that guide my life and have been there in every important moment. My family is my safe place, my motivation, and my biggest inspiration. They remind me every day that dreams are worth fighting for. My husband, Jean Carlos, and my son, Valentino, are my greatest sources of love and strength. They inspire me to keep pushing forward and reach my goals, knowing that every effort I make is for them. In this section, I share the stories, lessons, and memories that make my family my greatest treasure. 

More than just emotional support, my family is the engine that drives me to be my best self. My husband is my life partner, my friend, and the person who stands by me through every new challenge. My son Valentino, with his endless curiosity and laughter, reminds me that every sacrifice has meaning when it is made out of love. If I have a tough day, they are the shelter I always want to return to. If I achieve my goals, it is thanks to their unconditional love and support. 

📚 2. My Hobbies: The Colors of My Life 

Beyond work and studies, hobbies are what make life vibrant and fulfilling. For me, photography, content creation, and exploring new creative projects are my favorite ways to express myself. These activities keep my mind active, inspire my ideas, and help me find balance in my daily life. If I can dedicate time to my passions, I know I will keep growing both personally and professionally.

Photography allows me to capture unique moments and freeze memories that tell stories. Creating content for social media helps me connect with people who share my interests and create messages that inspire. I also enjoy exploring new digital tools, like Canva and Photoshop, which help me bring my ideas to life. These hobbies not only enrich my creativity, but also strengthen my skills as a communicator and content creator.

👷 3. Building My Future: My Professional Journey

Working in advertising is not just about creating campaigns. It's about connecting with people, telling stories, and inspiring change. As a Technologist in Advertising Development, I have big dreams of building a successful career in communication. This section is dedicated to my professional growth, my goals, and the steps I am taking to turn my dreams into reality.

My passion for communication has led me to develop skills in content creation, digital strategies, and project management. Every professional experience is an opportunity to learn and improve. If I can connect with people through my words and messages, I know I am on the right path toward a successful career in advertising.

📖 4. Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

Today, constant access to a vast amount of information makes critical thinking and media literacy essential. It’s not just about consuming content but analyzing, questioning, and verifying its authenticity to avoid falling into misinformation.

Often, news or social media posts are shared without confirming their truth, which leads to confusion and can influence false opinions or prejudices. Therefore, it’s crucial to learn how to identify reliable sources, compare different versions, and understand the context in which information is produced.

Personally, I always try to cross-check what I read with several reputable media outlets before believing or sharing any news. If more people adopted this habit, the spread of fake news would decrease, and social media would become more responsible spaces.

Critical thinking and media literacy are essential skills to develop informed citizens who can make conscious decisions and protect themselves from manipulation in a digitally saturated world.

⚖️ 5. Crime and Punishment

I believe Colombia’s judicial system needs significant reforms to regain citizens’ trust. Although we have clear laws, their enforcement is inconsistent, which often undermines the perception of true justice. When serious offenders are released due to legal flaws or corruption, respect for the law weakens and impunity increases.

 

Punishments often fail to reflect the seriousness of crimes such as domestic violence, homicide, or public corruption. Justice should ensure that penalties are proportional and that they contribute to repairing harm and protecting the community.

 

One case that deeply affected me involved a woman who was a victim of femicide, whose attacker was released due to insufficient evidence despite witness testimonies pointing to his guilt. Situations like this cause a sense of helplessness and question the State’s commitment to protecting victims.

 

To achieve true justice, sanctions must be exemplary and supported by prevention and social reintegration programs. The law must be strictly enforced to deter crime and protect those affected.

If we do not demand real reforms, impunity will continue to undermine our society. Justice is more than punishment: it is a guarantee of fairness, reparation, and peaceful coexistence in Colombia.
